"Statistical nosology--zymotic diseases"
(1842): 119-22
Appendix to the 4th Annual Report of the Registrar-General
These pages contain Farr's notion of zymotic diseases as a replacement for the earlier formulation of epidemic, endemic, and contagious diseases. He reprinted them as an extended note in the February 1852 report on the 1848-49 cholera epidemic.
They are preceded in the Appendix to the 4th Annual Report by a statistical nosology that was intended for medical men and registrars when recording causes of death.
